The Peter O’Malley Junior Masters took place at Parkes Golf Club over the weekend (Feb 24 & 25) and Bill, Bronte & Keith all took part.

The weather was exceptionally hot and the course was in great condition, which the kids enjoyed.

Here’s how it all played out…
BILL:

Bill played well on the first day with 2 birdies and only 1 bogey (1 under par) to finish the day in 2nd place. On Sunday, he had even par on the front 9 with 2 birdies and 2 bogeys. On the back 9 he had 8 straight pars as his birdie putts refused to fall; one even went in, circled the hole then popped out. Unfortunately he bogeyed the 18th hole and carded a 1 over, putting himself in a playoff with 2 others.

Bill then made two straight pars and lost the playoff on the second hole when his opponent birdied. This was his best tournament thus far and he finished runner up in his age group.

BRONTE:
Bronte played consistently with rounds of 81 & 82 to finish in 4th overall. Her ball striking was solid but a few too many 3 putts hurt her results. This was one of her best tournament results and she also finished runner up in her age group.

KEITH:

Keith had rounds of 81 & 77 to finish 20th overall and 9th in his age group. He was playing very well until a few mistakes lead to big numbers on a couple of holes during his first round.

He continues to improve and this was one of his best results in tournament play.
